Crop Workers are needed across different sectors, including grains, fruit, mushrooms, nuts, vegetables, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
Crop Workers may be responsible for some or all of the following tasks:
- Preparing soil for planting crops.
- Planting a variety of crops, such as grains, fruit, mushrooms, nuts, or vegetables.
- Maintaining crops, which involves activities like weeding, spraying, pruning, thinning, fertilizing, and watering.
- Conducting quality checks on crops to ensure they meet the required standards.
- Implementing pest and disease control measures to protect the crops.
- Harvesting crops by picking, sorting, and packing them.
- Operating vehicles and machinery, including forklifts, hydraladas, tractors, and motorbikes.
- Assisting with the general maintenance of farm buildings, fences, and other structures.
Skills and Knowledge:
Crop Workers should possess the following knowledge and skills:
- Understanding of crop cultivation and harvesting techniques.
- Knowledge of crop diseases, weeds, and pests, along with methods to control them.
- Familiarity with local climate and weather conditions affecting crop growth.
- Awareness of food safety, market certification, and quality requirements.
- Competence in applying agricultural fertilizers and chemicals safely.
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance and mechanics.
- Ability to assess fruit or vegetables for ripeness, damage, or size accurately.
Working Conditions:
Crop Workers should be prepared for the following working conditions:
- Early morning or evening start times.
