Responsibilities
Tasks:
- Demonstrate professionalism in customer service
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Load and unload goods
- Obtain special permits and other documents required for international routes
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
- Transport and handle dangerous goods
Credentials:
- AZ class license
Experience and Specialisation:
- Documentation Knowledge: Bill of lading, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trans-border documentation, Trip reports
Transportation/Travel Experience:
- Long-haul, Provincial/territorial
