Despite the ancient history, the official restoration of the country’s independence occurred only in 2006. In 2020, the population of Montenegro is about 629.2 thousand people. It is noteworthy that the annual number of tourists visiting Montenegrin resorts is several times higher than the population itself. Accordingly, this sphere is the main source of employment and forms the th part of the state budget. Therefore, work in Montenegro for foreigners in 2020 is associated with tourism and related services. Anyway, a foreigner must obtain Montenegro work permit first.
There are vacancies for foreigners in other areas, for example, construction. In recent years, the country has been actively engaged in economic development, in particular, attracting foreign investment, modernizing infrastructure, and conducting tax reforms. All this contributes to the emergence of new vacancies and increases the demand for labor from abroad. The average salary in Montenegro in 2020 is 770 euros per month.
Information about work permit in Montenegro
A work permit is a document that authorizes a foreigner to work legally in Montenegro. The permit indicates the company that entrusts the execution of work to the foreigner and the position or the type of work which the foreigner is to perform. The work is therefore regarded as legal only if the foreigner performs the work identified in the permit. This means that if the foreigner wants to change jobs (i.e. change employer and / or position and / or industry) in which he is employed, he has to obtain a new permit. However, there are some circumstances in which the permit remains valid despite a change in the circumstances for which it has been issued.
